With the increasingly competitive environment at the University of Texas and the continued need to address preventative maintenance and life safety systems, Texas Alpha wanted to be able to secure its future by renovating, expanding, and enhancing the entire Sigma Phi Epsilon facility. A successful capital campaign allowed the following improvements:

Created a safe living environment with the installation of sprinklers and fire-rated, self-closing doors

Developed a building endowment to prevent deferred maintenance

Installed new electrical/data/mechanical systems as necessary

New windows, lighting, and finishes throughout the main building

Created a 9,690 square foot addition that includes:

Multipurpose floor to allow for athletics and functions

Two study/meeting rooms

1,200 square foot of storage

1,760 square foot of storage

Men’s and women’s restrooms
-
Provided a partially covered outdoor venue between the main house and the addition

Established a maintenance endowment to ensure technological and educational components of the facility are properly maintained
