Built in 1931, the Phi Gamma Delta chapter house at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln has served Lambda Nu Chapter for several generations. The chapter house has undergone two major renovations, the first in 1964 to build the “new wing” of the house, and second for a major renovation in 1991. The Lambda Nu Graduate Association has been preparing for a major renovation to the chapter house since 2003 that addresses the life safety needs and provide today’s undergraduates with modern amenities offered by today’s university residential halls and off-campus housing. The graduate association hired Studio 360 Architects to develop a plan that will address the long-term needs of the chapter house. Improvements because of a capital fundraising campaign include:
-
Install sprinkler and fire alarm systems
-
Install new electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
-
Install new heating and air-conditioning systems
-
Convert existing second and third floors into suite-style housing
-
Upgrade kitchen
-
Upgrade parking lot
-
Upgrade current computer and technology features
