In order to remain competitive on campus, Delta Chi at the University of Alabama decided to update and expand their current chapter house. The safety of their student members was the most important consideration, and they plan to provide a facility where members will overwhelmingly desire to live, and one that the alumni can be proud of and enjoy on game days and other occasions. Details of the expansion due to a successful capital campaign include:

New expanded entry to allow for better flow through house

New construction of 4,000 square feet on lower level and 3,750 square feet on upper level for a total of 7,750 square feet in new construction, with a new house total of 17,750 square feet

Expanded dining to accommodate 110, enough room for the entire chapter to eat together and ample room for alumni to eat on football game days

Expanded TV room and gaming areas, new furnishings provided by $100,000 chapter funds committed to the campaign

Expanded ADA-compliant restrooms in front and rear of house

Expanded kitchen and food preparation areas, allowing for true serving line and dish drop-off flowing into new dining room

Two ADA-compliant bedrooms on first floor

New band/social multipurpose room with large doors allowing spillover into new courtyard

Renovated and expanded housemother’s suite with private living room, bedroom and bathroom

Covered walkway along courtyard common space and kitchen/dining facility
