The chapter house is central to undergraduate life for Alpha Tau Omega at Kansas State University. It is the rallying point, the living and learning center for brothers, and a place many have been fortunate enough to call home. With the commitment and dedication of alumni and undergraduates alike, their home has served them well for 40 years. Yet the signs of an aging facility are evident. The corporation members and architect have designed a 27,000-square-foot chapter house that meets the ever-changing needs of today’s ATO collegians. This state-of-the-art facility will house approximately 72-78 men. Fraternity engagement with alumni and a successful fundraising effort helped make these improvements possible:

Improved energy efficiency, security, and adaptability

Increased size of functional and outdoor multifunctional activity areas

Stabilized the eroding bluff behind house; improved water runoff

Provided a greater variety of bedroom arrangements

Provided new amenities, such as exercise room, business center, and additional public restrooms on all floors

Met ATO national mandate to install a sprinkler system

Improved mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; added central heating and air conditioning
